The History department’s aim and vision is to be outstanding at everything it does. History is at the front of an ever changing world and has a huge responsibility in preparing young people for life after school. History teaches the vital skills to analyse, evaluate and ultimately understand the world around us. The history department is dedicated to the teaching of social, moral and cultural education and the part history plays in this.
The History department at Aldersley High School aims to enthuse and inspire all pupils with high class delivery, varied and interesting content. We aim to identify talent and ability in all pupils and nurture this, providing a scaffolded and robust curriculum. Pupils will be engaged, excited and inspired by seeing the highest class of teachers, delivering subjects that they themselves are inspired by.
We are dedicated to seeing professional live work in all of the arts; all pupils will have annual visits organised by the school. Pupils will see the inherent benefits of studying the arts that apply to the world of work far wider than our subject.
